Profession

Why is the profession/description tag that used to be in the old infobox missing in this infobox? AFAIK, this even helped in creating the automatic list of NPCs in some articles. Why are we breaking this?--Sega381 12:55, June 6, 2010 (UTC)

I brought up profession and description in the Forum:NPC_Infobox#Contents but no one else commented on them. I decided to roll them out without but left the vestigial information in there in case adding it back in was decided on.

The automatic NPC list is a different matter though. No one else used 'em (not even you). I still <3 them and dislike having to jump between creating an NPC and the list in the NPC's location to enter the same information twice. But hacking away at DPL code to get some fancy thing working that no one else uses was less important to me than getting out Infoboxes out. I still have dreams of making it and probably would do it eventually but if others have an interest in it I'd gladly move it up on my priority list. -- Fenyx4 14:22, June 6, 2010 (UTC)

I hadn't used the automatic list because I hadn't noticed it existed until recently. I think it is a very good idea and it would help maintaining the Wiki. I offer my help to start turning articles into that format once the way it's going to be used is clear.

BTW, I think this wiki needs a Manual of Style or similar guideline, where all this information on what is the official infobox, what is the structure for City articles, etc., could be put into. It would help a lot if people can go to a specific reference which contains the information that I have been trying to gather with this questions. If it DOES exist (and I haven't found it), maybe it's not visible enough...--Sega381 18:29, June 6, 2010 (UTC)
