Talk:Ssithnos
Who killed Ssithnos?[edit]
There are several articles in this wiki stating that Calithiss killed Ssithnos. However, I haven't been able to find a source for this. Most sources (books, Order soldiers from Serpent's Fang), believe that Chaos soldiers murdered Ssithnos. The only evidences that this may not be so that I have found come from Sethys, who says that "I'm certain it was thy pack of jackals that killed the Great Hierophant!", refering to the followers of Order (and being a high-ranking Chaos soldier, should have known if the Chaos Hierophant had ordered the murder), and Ssithnos own letter, where he mentions that the forces of Order, not Chaos, were storming his fortress and about to break in. But I haven't found any source saying the Calithiss ordered the murder. It may have been rebel Order forces acting on their own, rebel Chaos forces disguised as Order forces, some third party disguised as Order forces, etc....
So, my question is, is there any evidence or sources that states that Calithiss killed Ssithnos and blamed Chaos for it? If not, all the mentions to that "fact" should be reworded.--Sega381 23:16, July 25, 2010 (UTC)
- She was the highest authority, and organized assault without her approval is simply impossible. And also, from the various books I managed to puzzle it together by reading the various books and comparing the contraidictions. The whole thing also was planned because the Order army already was only waiting for the reason to arise to storm Skullcrusher and slaughter the inhabitants.--Tribun 23:46, July 25, 2010 (UTC)
- I agree with you that this seems to be the most reasonable explanation, and personally I think that is what happened. But still, if there is no explicit source on the subject, I think the whole thing should be reworded somehow, as to avoid putting as a fact a conclusion, which, though probably right, might be wrong.--Sega381 01:41, July 26, 2010 (UTC)
- When I played through The Silver Seed, I always got the impression that the Guardian had Ssithnos murdered, and left enough evidence behind that Order and Chaos forces would blame one another. Thus, there was no one left to balance the forces and leading The Serpent Isle into Imbalance. The Avatar, being a Champion of Balance (after the fact) was forced to plant the Silver Seed to help offset the Guardian's actions. Of course, nothing other than the three crones lead us to believe the Guardian (the Guide, they call him at the time) was actually active, thats still my impression. -- Browncoat Jayson 01:35, July 27, 2010 (UTC)
