Talk:PSX-port of Ultima Underworld
The youtube video that features Ultima Underworld for PSX gameplay shouldn't be announced here. It was recorded from a PC using an emulator, and the result is very poor and misleading. You can easily perceive that the movement is extremely slow, though it's not because the port was badly done but the user recording the video who was emulating it horribly. People that watches that video get a false (and rather bad) impression of the game. The problem isn't the game, but the computer from which the video was recorded. You can confirm this by hearing the soundtrack, and then hearing the music at the video. The music is being played at 0.50% speed at least, sounding caricaturistic and far from how the tracks really are. Finally I may add that a friend of mine has emulated the game on a PSP, and has got a much better result, I've seen it with my own eyes and what is being shown at youtube has nothing to do with the real U:UW for PSX. The game looks very good, sounds very good, runs smoothly and the gameplay is very enjoyable. I just wish there was an English translation available. Ainlor 17:50, August 31, 2010 (UTC)Ainlor.
- Can anyone suggest a good emulator and video capture program? I could easily pop in my CD and make a video if need be. Dungy 18:12, August 31, 2010 (UTC)
My suggestion for the emulator would be ePSXe, as it is widely considered the best out there. About the video recording software... I guess fraps can do the job :) Ainlor 21:30, September 2, 2010 (UTC)Ainlor
- OK, got everything working. I'l take a video or two over the next few days. Dungy 23:31, September 2, 2010 (UTC)
