Skyrise is a phoenix that has come to the Serpent Isle to counter the Imbalance. She appears in Ultima VII Part Two.

Description

It is unknown how exactly Skyrise died. The Avatar finds her body on the northernmost of the Isles of the Mad Mage in some ruins. Pulling a lever causes the lava to engulf the body, and thus, Skyrise is reborn.

She is surprised when the Avatar asks for her real name, as she'd mostly just been addressed as "phoenix." She then goes on to tell the Avatar about her people and how they were drawn to places where the Balance had been disturbed. She continues, that with her now alive, balance can be restored to Serpent Isle.

In thanks, she then gives the Avatar one of her eggs, which was exactly what the hero needs for Erstam to exchange it for his serpent jawbone.

Trivia

• It is possible to shoot Skyrise with arrows and kill her. However, she is immediately reincarnated and complains to the Avatar to stop this foolishness.
• According to early design documents for Serpent Isle, a lit torch would have been needed to be placed on the nest to rise Skyrise from the ashes instead of a lever.
• Skyrise's portrait looked completely different in the 1.07 Beta of the game. In it, she actually looked like a peacock.
