This article is about a character from Ultima IV. For the Ultima VI character, see Shawn.
Shawn is a strong and beautiful shepherdess sitting vigil beside a well of water, during Ultima IV.
Description[edit]
A refugee from the lost city of Magincia, Shawn sat beside the mysteriously sapient waters in Castle Britannia, claiming that watching them brought her some measure of peace. If asked by the Stranger about her homeland, the shepherdess would ask if the adventurer is proud, and should humility be demonstrated, she would reveal the story of Magincia's destruction, and give the hero the geographical coordinates to its ruins: latitude K'J" longitude L'L".[1]
Trivia[edit]
- In the Nintendo remake of Ultima IV (Japanese original), Shawn can be identified as the druid in a different room on the same floor. This character was removed in the English localization. Her original spot was occupied by Sniflet.[2]
- In the document discovered by historians Robert de Main and Carlotta Stein which purports to be the Avatar's personal diary, Shawn is described as being deeply sorrowful as she looks out over the waters, and is unresponsive when the hero pries regarding Magincia.[3]
