Four scruffy sailors could be found carousing at Captain Black Tavern in Buccaneer's Den during Ultima IV.

Should the salty men speak with the Stranger, they would talk about their enjoyment of a life at sea, singing joyously, "Oh, a sailor's life is the life for me, As I sail across the bounding sea! And never ever ever do I worry 'bout the weather, for the weather never ever did a thing for me!"[1]

NES remake
- In the Nintendo remake of Ultima IV (Japanese original), one sailor can be identified with the pirate in the same location. This character was removed in the English localization.
- The lyrics the sailor sings are a small variation on the song "The Sailor's Hornpipe" from Disney’s Alice in Wonderland.
