Publius is a fighter living in Trinsic during Ultima IV.
Description[edit]
The Stranger could meet Publius within the Keg Tap tavern. Publius was very tired, but nevertheless persisting in drinking toasts to Honor. If asked about his city's virtue he would claim that without Honor, naught would be left to his life.[1]
Trivia[edit]
- In the Nintendo remake of Ultima IV (where most character names were omitted and dialogue was significantly modified), Publius can be identified with the woman in the same building. Instead of talking about Honor, she informs the Stranger about the location of the nearest moongate.[2]
- Publius is named for the Syrian Latin author Publilius Syrus, who is well known for his numerous maxims. "What is left when honor is lost?" is a saying attributed to him. Publius also quotes Shakespeare's Richard II, when he says, "Take honor from me and my life is done!"
