Lady Marcy is the charming chatelaine of Empath Abbey during Ultima IV, ruling the Keep of Love jointly with her husband Lord Robert.
Description[edit]
Lady Marcy could be found within the court of the Abbey alongside her lord. Should the Stranger ask her, she would expound upon the Principle of Love, which was held in esteem within her province, telling the hero that love may be found by seeking it out.[1]
Trivia[edit]
- Lady Marcy's counterpart in reality is likely the eponymous wife of Robert Garriott, Richard Garriott's brother.
- In the document discovered by historians Robert DeMain and Carlotta Stein, which purports to be the Avatar's personal diary, Lady Marcy is described as a tall woman with cropped brown curly hair. She speaks to the Stranger at length about her and her Lord's efforts to settle the Deep Forest and the hero has a sense that she is deeply determined despite her soft demeanor.[2]
- In the Nintendo remake of Ultima IV, Lady Marcy has considerably less dialogue, and simply introduces herself before directing the Stranger to her husband.[3]
