Several guards patrolled the second floor of Castle Britannia during Ultima IV.
Description[edit]
These burly men would enthusiastically describe how they guarded the safety of their liege, Lord British. They would mention that those who guard must be valiant warriors, and would ask the if Stranger is the bravest fighter of all. Should the hero arrogantly claim this honor, the sentries would jokingly advise the adventurer to become a guard.[1]
Trivia[edit]
- An humble answer to the guard's question will increase Humility by 5 points, a proud answer will lower it by 5.
- In the Nintendo remake of Ultima IV (where most character names were omitted and dialogue was significantly modified), these guards can be identified as seven guards. In the English localization, only three of them were left: one guard on the upper floor and two fighters on the ground floor, who collectively have a dialogue similar to the original ones. One of them questions the Stranger's virtues: the answer affects the karma of Honor and Spirituality.[2]
