Gorgrond is a sorcerer living in the enclave on Daemon's Crag. He appears in Ultima VIII.
Description[edit]
The other sorcerers of the cabal made no secret that many of them regarded Gorgrond as slow of wit, and in speaking with him the Avatar would find that he appeared to be of a very simple mindset, largely parroting things which had been said to him by Vardion. Being easily led, Gorgrond had taken the First Acolyte's willingness to make him useful[1] as a sign of friendship, and would make little secret of the fact that he admired Vardion and greatly hated his rival, Bane.
Should the Avatar take actions which resulted in Vardion's death, Gorgrond would be devastated, thinking that he had lost a close comrade. If, however, the hero should cause Bane to meet her end, the slow-witted acolyte would offer congratulations. Regardless of which of these two sorcerers died, Gorgrond would later assist in the cabal's ritual summoning of Pyros, and would eventually come to bow to the Avatar once aquiring the Tongue of Flames.[2]
Trivia[edit]
- Should the Avatar refuse to reveal a name to Gorgrond, he will just use "Dungbreath."[2]
- Gorgrond will boast that Vardion has told him that his mind is "mercifully free of cluttering thoughts," and will denounce Bane as mean because she makes fun of him for not knowing needlessly big words like "esoteric."[2]
