Two gate guards stand watch over the entrance to Empath Abbey during Ultima IV.
Description[edit]
The two sentries would speak of their work guarding the gate to the abbey, revealing that within the keep's walls there lay a sacred Oak Grove where many wanderers found peaceful respite. They would ask if the Stranger was saturated with Love, and should an honest answer be given, they would direct the hero to the abbey's shrine.[1]
Trivia[edit]
- In the Nintendo remake of Ultima IV (Japanese original), they can be identified with the two guards: one of them is in the original location, the other one just inside the gate. In the English localization, the latter was removed, and the remaining guard stands before the gates to the abbey, bidding the hero welcome to the Keep of Love.[2]
