Frida is a beggar living in Yew during Ultima IV.
Description[edit]
A severely malnourished and sickly woman, Frida begged not on her own behalf, but on the behalf of her ill baby, whom she feared was near death. Plying for alms just outside of the Just Healing practice, the anguished mother was grateful for any donations which might help to provide her baby with medical care. Should the Stranger assist her, the withered beggar would praise the hero and recommend seeking out Jaana, a druidess who might be willing to join in the quest for Avatarhood.[1]
Trivia[edit]
- Should Frida be denied alms, she will denounce the Stranger as an evil wretch and make curses.
- In the Nintendo remake of Ultima IV (where most character names were omitted and dialogue was significantly modified), Frida can be identified as the beggar in the same building, with almost the same dialogue.[2]
