Ethereal Plane

The Ethereal Plane is a vast artificial construction in the Ethereal Void.

Description[edit]

Floating in the vastness of the Ethereal Void, the Ethereal Plane is a vast platform complex. At its center lies a great stone pentagram, the sole purpose of which is to provide a foundation for the blackrock Obelisk of Pagan. The sovereign elemental planes of the four Titans Lithos, Hydros, Stratos and Pyros are accessed through teleport gates found there. It is unknown how this place came into being, though Mythran hints it could be due to interference from the Titans and the Avatar's wish to leave Pagan that it came into being.

The platform however is also infested with changelings; regardless, the Avatar was able to use the pentagram to reconstruct the Obelisk and ultimately depart Pagan.

Lore[edit]

Avatar! Though my father forecast your success, I only now see the scope of his vision! The Titans fear you, though they seek to disguise their dread. They remain behind doors and prepare for doomed battles. A door, a battle, another door ....

Trivia[edit]

  • The Ethereal Plane's pentagram dais is a scanned image of an amulet (seen below) belonging to Ultima VIII programmer Jason Ely.[1]
  • Also found on the Ethereal Plane is the "Cheesy Book", which is hidden behind one of the northern pillars. In order to read it, an explosion has to knock it out of its hiding place (or you cheat and use the hackmover).
