Drudgeworth is a prisoner in Castle Britannia during the time of Ultima V.

Description[edit]

The Avatar found him in a cell in the basement, and Drudgeworth said the hero was the first person he'd seen in months. When asked about his sentence, he never really said exactly what had happened, but went on about how Chuckles was responsible for his imprisonment, that he hadn't killed "her" (whose identity is never revealed), and it wasn't his fault, claiming that he could show the Avatar where "it" was hidden if the hero released him.[1]

Ultima V: Lazarus[edit]

This is an Ultima V: Lazarus-related article or section. The information within may not apply to Ultima V or other Ultima games.

In Ultima V: Lazarus, Drudgeworth would bitterly complain that the Avatar is the first person he'd seen in months who wasn't a guard, barely able to control his seething anger. He ranted that he didn't mean to kill “her”, and couldn't imagine why everyone believed Chuckles story instead of his own. Drudgeworth would still attack without explanation if freed.[2]

Trivia[edit]

  • Should the Avatar free Drudgeworth, he'll show his true colors and attack the party as soon as possible. He has no further elaboration on what happened, and no conversation with him will get him to lead the party anywhere except into combat. Some more about his rantings can be corroborated from thoroughly investigating Chuckles' room, but the jester himself has nothing to say on the matter, going so far as to deny even knowing Drudgeworth.[3]
