Daros is a sewer worker living in the dungeon beneath Castle Britannia in Ultima VI.
Description[edit]
The Avatar met Daros at work in the sewers beneath Britain, where the strange fellow immediately gave the hero the nickname "Ducky". Rather enamored by ducks, Daros even gave the hero a small squeaky rubber duck. Daros went on to speak about his job and the giant rats encountered in the sewers, suggesting if the hero possessed a set of panpipes, they could pipe the rats away. The sewer worker also recommended not swimming in the water, since it was quite nasty stuff.[1]
Lore[edit]
“ | Now, I used to go down under the castle several times – whenever I needed someplace private to take ladies who couldn’t afford to be seen with me. Daros always knew when I was down there, but an occasional gold coin or two was enough to get him to mind his own business. – from The Book of Prophecy (Ultima VI)
