Aurendir is a shepherd in New Magincia in Ultima VI.
Description[edit]
When the Avatar met Aurendir, he was a simple shepherd who made his living from the wool he sold. He told the Avatar that he thought of life as one great circle, from earth, to grass, to sheep, to himself, and ultimately back to the earth once again. Despite his humble life, Aurendir had once been a powerful mage, but after meditating at the Shrine of Humility, he decided to relinquish all worldly possessions, and instead of his previous robes of flowing silk, was now content with the simple wool garment worn in its stead. The shepherd revealed that the mantra of humility was 'lum', and that he wished someday to return to the Shrine of Humility. Aurendir was willing to sell bales of wool for 5gp each.[1]
Despite Aurendir's professed modesty, he still kept several gems and magical jewelery hidden in a crate in his small house.
