(U6O)-Look

Look at things by pressing L. (U)sing by press U and (L)ooking are probably the two biggest things you'll need to do.

Looking will tell you lots of information about the item you are Looking at:
the weight,
the attack ability,
if an item is a plus item,
and whether the item would be considered stealing or not.

To look at items you do NOT need to be standing next to them.

After you open a treasure chest with U, you Look into it and the items will pop up on screen. You will need to be next to a treasure chest, corpse, spellbook, bag, barrel, or box in order to rumage through it and have the items pop up on screen.

You can also look at other players to see what they are wearing. There's a wealth of information that can be gleened from looking, give it a try!
