Not correct representation[edit]
This representation is not correct in the most technical sense. The "cross" actually goes north of the main hallway. This is because dungeons were never more than 15 spaces wide or long, because only 4 bits are needed to store values from 0 through 15. Thusly way an (x,y) location within a dungeon level can be expressed as a single byte (4 bits of Y and 4 bits of X). So (8, 3) might be stored as 0x87 (or 10000111 in binary).
