The X-Games Ultima IX clue book

The X-Games Ultima IX clue book is a German clue book made by the publisher Markt&Technik in 1999 for Ultima IX, written by Anton Conrad. Its original list price was 19,95DM, which amounted to roughly 10€.

Description[edit]

The book is 192 pages long and also includes some general (now outdated) hints for Ultima Online at the end. The entire solution for Ultima IX is written as if the Avatar is telling the player of the adventure after it is already done, with occasional information being presented in separate infoboxes and computer-generated maps outside of the narrative. Since the book was written without Origin's official approval, it contains no pictures from inside the game.

Trivia[edit]

  • The cover has "Ein Lösungsbuch" (a clue book). This was done to avoid legal trouble with Origin if readers could get the impression that this was the official clue book for the game.[Citation needed]
