Windy Point

Windy Point is a peak on Argentrock Isle on Pagan, and the second test on the way to become a Theurgist.

Description[edit]

Windy Point is also dubbed the test of Balance, and for good reason. The test involves withstanding strong winds which try to blow the novice off from the point. Near the peak are the columns that show the air-way to where Stratos resides; the final test of faith, and where the Breath of Air is found. The Home of Stratos is a system of hovering platforms over the sea at the shore of Argentrock Isle after jumping off Windy Point and the final test for Theurgists. Stratos herself lives on the biggest platform near the top. To reach her means to pass the final test. At the first time, Stratos will help with the initial jump, but afterwards, a jump-spell, only awarded by Stratos herself, can grant access. Rumors say, that also something important is stored near her.

History[edit]

The Avatar visited Windy Point during Ultima VIII in the second test to become a Theurgist and succeeding in the test. It was near that place, where Torwin fell into the ocean when trying to reach Stratos, the Avatar helpless to act. The Home of Stratos was visited twice, the first time to meet Stratos herself and gain the Air Walk spell, and the second time to get the Breath of Air, breaking the magic of Theurgy.

Trivia[edit]

  • Falling off the eastern side of the peak results in death. The western side however, is harmless. The test can be repeated as often as needed until it's passed
  • The Breath of Air is near Stratos, but the Avatar can only see it after casting a Reveal spell.
  • Without the Air Walk spell, Stratos' home can't be reached after the last test.
