Virtues in Ultima Online work differently from the mainstream games. In Ultima Online, performing certain acts that correspond with a virtue grants the player bonuses that can be of huge advantage. Praying at their shrines with an Ankh amulet can also grant temporary stat boosts, depending on the shrine in question.
As of 2015, finally all eight of the eight Virtues have been activated. Honesty in 2011 and Humility and Spirituality in 2015.
Note that shrines of virtue do exist in both facets of Britannia and Ilshenar.
