Your Darkness Timeline[edit]
This looks fantastic. I will definitely want to digest and discuss with you the Age of Darkness timeline. Part of the manual for Forgotten World will include a more detailed description of the all the Ages including Darkness. And you're an Astrophysicist? That's really cool. - Hello Iceblade. I am really happy that someone appreciates my personal view of it. Yes, I am technically an astrophysicist. I quit few years ago out of boredom, now I am a supervisor in an airport, and I have much more fun. Down to the timeline, I learned already that applying real-life science to fictional magic is completely wrong: they are not compatible at all. What I use on my timeline is just logic, not science; in particular, I follow the principle of cause & consequence, and a strict use of chronology. I don't know much about Forgotten World, I got to Ultima 6 only (I am playing the series in order, so to enjoy the evolution of graphics and gameplay), but I will be glad to be of help. ---Abacos (talk) 02:26, 11 January 2017 (MST)
U4 NES pictures[edit]
Your U4 NES pictures are a nice addition, but please put in the standard 200px scaling size limitation for game screenshots. Right now the pictures are displayed way too big and they disturb the page layout (200px is exactly as wide as the infobox. Alternatively, put them into the infobox (just look at the formatting for NPCs with multiple appearances to see how that works). "Native English speakers are bad at English"[edit]
This is the second time that bringing up the "Native English speakers are bad at English" argument has caused the discussion to escalate dramatically. Although "Native English speakers are bad at English" may be true in the general case the way you apply it to specific cases can come across as racist and as a personal attack. Racism and personal attacks against the policy of the wiki. Please be careful in the future. -- Fenyx4 19:58, 26 March 2018 (MDT)
- If this is what was perceived, I must have expressed myself in an extremely bad way. Let me reformulate:
- * All languages in the world are progressively degenerating with the "Web 2.0", instead of evolving (this is also the opinion of several linguists and scholars in different countries).
- * English language is the international language, therefore it has more visibility (it is more important) than the rest.
- * Be careful: there are "traps" in the English language that are less easily spotted by English-natives than by foreigners.
- Obviously, there are "traps" in every language, but this website is in English, so I listed some English examples.
