Tongs are commonly used for picking up items which are otherwise dangerous or undesirable to pick up with one's hands, as is common in a smithy. They appear in Ultima VI, Martian Dreams, Ultima VII and Ultima VII Part Two.
Description[edit]
Tongs are mainly a tool and less useful as a weapon, but if being caught unarmed, they can be used as an effective makeshift weapon. On the Mars of Martian Dreams, tongs actually are a highly important tool. They are are absolutely essential to handle Radium, since holding the highly-radioactive metal in bare hands is a massive health hazard. They do not, however, function as a useable weapon in the Worlds of Ultima installment.
Effectiveness as a Weapon[edit]
- In Ultima VII Part two, a pair of tongs has a damage of 6 and a reach of 3.[1]
