This looks great. Do you plan to modify the lists for Ultima VI and VII to look like this as well?--Tribun 11:23, 23 December 2010 (PST)

Unknown. Ultima VII looks pretty good right now, it just needs a big of colouring. Ultima VI looks terrible and should be fixed. It was far more difficult doing it this way. Dungy 11:43, 23 December 2010 (PST)

Pricing notation[edit]

It's a bit confusing, having 2 figures and brackets. I seem to remember a guide for a similar table in another article. I guess it was overlooked for this one.--The Ultra-Mind (talk) 14:27, 21 October 2021 (UTC)

Looking up the cluebook solved it for me.--The Ultra-Mind (talk) 12:40, 28 June 2022 (MDT)

Needing to rethink tables[edit]

I tried applying the new formatting to this table, but I it wasn't looking as good as I'd hoped.

This looks terrible on my laptop screen and not so great on the wide screen. Now it's harder to distinguish the cells with no data from the ones that have. Maybe – would be better than "n/a" but not a huge improvement. I'm going to have put off that overhaul I was planning.--The Ultra-Mind (talk) 12:40, 28 June 2022 (MDT)

Just only use Guilders for the Moonshade mages to make the whole table more simple (you honestly wouldn't use anything other than Guilders anyway) and put in a link to the money exchange table. People can do that math themselves.--Tribun (talk) 15:22, 28 June 2022 (MDT)
Well, that's great then! This is much more appealing. It looks like we can eliminate the gold all together. But I think we should make clear which merchants also accept gold. I take it that's Ensorcio and Elissa?

I think I might also use dashes instead of the n/as. It makes it much easier to scan for good data.--The Ultra-Mind (talk) 11:26, 29 June 2022 (MDT)
So that's what I went w/. A few caveats:
  • I had to correct a number of figures, (if they were taken from the clue book, they were wrong) but I couldn't verify any of Elissa's prices. They don't appear to be in the SI clue book
  • I've made a new friend. It seems you can use the "group" attribute in <ref /> and <references /> to separate ad hoc references from the main ones. I think it's great that we have this ready-made solution, because I didn't like how the asterisks and daggers were turning out. Unfortunately, this meant much wider footnotes, so I tried to abbreviate them.
  • I thought the en dash looks lot better than "n/a"

Looks good, only Elissa does get paid in gold pieces. Better add that link for the money conversion in that game.--Tribun (talk) 12:20, 5 July 2022 (MDT)

Actually, I was thinking about what to say about who accepts what currencies. Do the others accept both?--The Ultra-Mind (talk) 12:45, 5 July 2022 (MDT)

I only know that Ensorcio, due to his circumstances, does. No idea about the Moonshade mages. For at lest him, we could make it (gu)/(gp) like (fictional) 45/39. That would save space but still makes it clear what is meant. If you want to be extra sure, make it 45gu/39gp. All the various currencies in the game are a massive hassle.--Tribun (talk) 14:23, 5 July 2022 (MDT)
EDIT: Look here http://infinitron.nullneuron.net/sispells.html According to this, Torrissio and Mortegro only accept Guilders, the others also accept Gold Pieces.--Tribun (talk) 14:31, 5 July 2022 (MDT)
