Talk:Ultima Trilogy I II III

Where did you read that they couldn't get the rights to Ultima II cover? I see it here with Origin's name on the box [1]. Seems like it may've just been a thematic choice to me since it looks so different than the other covers. -- Fenyx4 00:22, September 5, 2009 (UTC)

I find it ironic, because for me the image of Shadowgard with the two moons in the background is the iconic Ultima image. Yeah, the time traveller emerging from the moongate with the gargoyle is... cheezy... but still. Anyone know who the artist for this cover was? Or have a better scan of it than the one at Moby Games? I dunno who was the artist for the original Ultima II cover art. Denis Loubet did the art for it's replacement. He's got the Akalabeth version on his website. I don't have a better scan than the one on Moby Games I thought theirs was pretty good though. -- Fenyx4 04:16, September 5, 2009 (UTC)
The Ultima 1/2 Ad (http://ultima.wikia.com/wiki/File:UltimaIandII.jpg) seems to show the signature, which isn't visible on any of the actual box covers. I can't read it clearly, however: LE Finson? I wish there was a way to clear it up a bit. --Browncoat Jayson 19:12, October 14, 2010 (UTC)
Here (http://cgw.vintagegaming.org/galleries/ads/ad12.pdf) is a clearer version of that advertisement. Hope that helps. Dungy 19:20, October 14, 2010 (UTC)

[2] Look at the lowest entry. Also you will notice that your example is from Japan, maybe there are different mechanisms at work. All the compilations have the replacement cover (Apart from the hlp-file in the Collection, which uses the original cover. Propably felt no one wouldnotice). --Tribun 12:14, September 5, 2009 (UTC)

In the link you gave he says "presumably". I'd be more comfortable if we changed it to an uncertainty like that. Although tbh I prefer to keep all supposition to the talk pages. --Fenyx4 13:12, September 5, 2009 (UTC)
