"Note: The armour and weapon restrictions are by now mostly of philosophical nature. During the gargoyle war, the drawbacks of this narrow-minded thinking became clear, and the bards of Britannia have opened themselves to all kinds of weapons and armour." Maybe my memory is failing me, but has this ever actually been stated anywhere? Dungy 01:58, August 27, 2010 (UTC)

I don't really remember, but it looks like a speculative way to explain the in-game restrictions change.--Sega381 02:01, August 27, 2010 (UTC)
I don't think it was ever stated. I think Sega381's correct... that line was probably also put there because the first thing you read on each profession page is really a quote from Ultima IV... which is repeated again in the LoreQuotes section, so the first paragraphs or so of each profession should probably be re-written. --Polygoncount 06:12, August 27, 2010 (UTC)
This has been bugging me as well. It has no basis in Ultima lore, it is indeed a speculative way to rationalize the equipment restrictions and their removal. --Warder Dragon 08:35, August 27, 2010 (UTC)
I think all of these class articles need to be somewhat rewritten. Just quoting the Ultima IV manual, and then placing the same quote again on the same page is extremely bad form. Also, all of these articles have the names of character class capitalized. I'll fix the capitalization today, but I I think the section about armour and weapon restrictions needs to be removed or rewritten, and the first paragraph of each section needs to be rewritten as well, so that it isn't simply a rehash of the lore quote. I agree. We should probably do something about "bonus" in the infobox under the profession image, too. Professions don't receive any attribute bonuses. --Warder Dragon 13:08, August 27, 2010 (UTC)
