Location: Realm of the Gargoyles

Snake Charmer (Sarpanzenexlem) lived in the Realm of the Gargoyles in Ultima VI.

Description[edit]

Snake Charmer was an old and wizened Gargoyle responsible for assisting young warriors in fighting silver serpents, to extract their venom. Snake Charmer warned that by blowing the Gargish Silver Horn, the Avatar could summon a swarm of silver serpents that would immediately attack their summoner's enemies. He further told the Avatar that the silver serpent venom would temporarily make a Gargoyle nearly invincible, but the price paid by the warrior was a rapid death as the venom wore off.[1]

The Ultima 6 Project[edit]

This is an Ultima 6 Project-related NPC article or section. The information within may not apply to Ultima VI or other Ultima games.

In The Ultima 6 Project, Snake Charmer was the parent of Tutimvaglem, who studied under the auspices of Caretaker, the master of the Hall of Knowledge. As well, his child Vasargsarpinwislem studied directly under his guidance to become a master snake charmer. He suggested using the Gargish Silver Horn in the farmlands, or in Inzende Or, an island to the south southeast which contained the Shrine of Passion, to summon a serpent

Trivia[edit]

  • Should the Avatar speak to Snake Charmer without having learned Gargish, he will say, "An-bal-sil-fer!" This translates to "False Prophet!"
