Shanklick is the leader of the exiles in the Abyss. She appears in Ultima Underworld.

After hearing rumours that someone named Shanklick had important information about the mad wizard Tyball, the Avatar found her on the fifth level, acting as the leader of the exiles of the Abyss. Shanklick had a problem solving a murder among the exiles. The Avatar suggested that she feign sympathy with the murderer and offer a reward. Shanklick liked the Avatar's shrewdness, and said that Arial had been brought to Tyball in the levels below them, revealing the location of the stairs down in the process.

This is the home of Shanklick, a most unhappy ghoul. She led some humans long ago, and watched their hopes of civilization and peace crumble to dust — isn't that nice? Better, she and her followers had to survive on the bodies of the dead, and became as they are now — hideous, wretched ghouls. Their story warms my heart. It is said she knows where the haft of the Sword Caliburn is hidden.
