Seara is a clockmaker working in a collective with other members of the Artisan's Guild in Minoc during Ultima VII.

Description[edit]

A young craftsman at the time of the double-murders of Frederico and Tania, Seara was one of the few settled townsfolk of Minoc to have made a friend among the local gypsies. Sasha, the child of the victims, had befriended the artisan a few weeks prior to his parents' deaths, and had spent the night in the guild hall with him - fearing retribution from his father over his desire to join the Fellowship.[1]

While Seara felt that the philosophical organization his friend sought to join was dubious, he emphasized that he felt Sasha was a good person, who had become entangled in an all too human search for meaning which had earned him his family's disapproval. While he ultimately regretted having aided Sasha in his flight from the gypsies, he wished the young man well, even though he had lost contact with him in the wake of the slayings.[2]

Like many members of the Artisan's Guild, Seara also had misgivings regarding the monument being built in honor of the local shipwright, Owen, although he admitted that Gladstone was better able to articulate his fears than he was.[3]

Lore[edit]

Welcome to Minoc. If thou dost seek a craftsman or craftswoman, thou hast come to the right place. We have a tinker, Julia, who understands the construction of any contraptions thou canst conceive of, a blacksmith who makes the finest horseshoes I have ever seen, a clockmaker, a sawyer, a candlestick maker and a glassblower who also sculpts - me!
