The recall item is used for travelling in Pagan. It appears in Ultima VIII.
Description[edit]
Using this special item, the traveller can teleport to any activated recall pad. The recall item does require a few minutes to recharge after every teleport, which has to be taken into account. Mythran gave the recall item to the Avatar during the hero's quest to leave Pagan. It enabled the Avatar to travel much faster in Pagan.
Recall pads are found in the following locations:
- Plateau (in Mythran's house)
- Tenebrae (on top of the Palace of the Tempest)
- Catacombs (after freeing the way with the Skull of Quakes)
- Hall of the Mountain King (close to Lithos and the exit teleporter)
- Argentrock Isle (east of the monastery)
- Carthax Lake (at the lake shore)
- Daemon's Crag (next to the entrance from the Mouth of the Daemon)
Trivia[edit]
- In the pre-patch version of Ultima VIII, the recall item could not be used while in the Daemon's Crag on account of the area preventing the use of any form of non-sorcery magic.
- The recall item is put directly into the backpack. Since all animations are frozen in the backpack, only players who remove it (for whatever reason) will experience the animation.
- The item also recognizes recall pads that were visited before acquiring it.
