Rand is a roaming tavern patron who appears in Ultima IX.
Description[edit]
Rand was a remarkably well-traveled drunkard who frequented the pubs of Britannia with notable consistency, to the extent that the Avatar could be guaranteed to find him whenever entering such an establishment (curiously including that of the incorporeal Spirit Realm contained within the Well of Souls). Though offering little conversation other than drunken toasts and limericks, Rand's continual encounters with the Avatar would eventually cause the barfly to wonder if he was being followed.[1]

- Rand's counterpart in reality is Ultima IX designer Rand Van Fossen.[2]
