Poor House

The Poor House is an establishment in Minoc dedicated to helping Britannia’s sick, injured and impoverished. It appears in Ultima IV and Ultima V.

Description[edit]

Established after sometime Britannia’s christening in the early Age of Enlightenment, the Poor House served as a means of exemplifying Minoc's dedication to the virtue of Sacrifice, and therein the tinker Julia assisted numerous unfortunates in need of succor. It was here that the Stranger would first be able to meet the fiery spirited woman, and request her company in questing toward Avatarhood.

Years later, during the oppressive reign of Lord Blackthorn, Fiona took over the management of the poor house and its duty was supplemented by a nearby healer known as Regina who operated a small mission which provided free aid to those in need.

Lore[edit]

Next to the inn was a poorhouse, where the indigent of Britannia ended up. We gave as much as we could to those who would accept our charity, but some were too proud or too ill to make use of our gold.
