Mole is a retired pirate living on Buccaneer's Den during Ultima VII.
Description[edit]
Mole was given his name due to the fact his mother birthed him in a cave, although he would claim there was a longer story behind these circumstances. For a sizable portion of his life thereafter, he lived as a pirate in the company of Blacktooth, sharing treasure, misfortune, and wenches, as the two of them raided their way across the Britannian seas. Around the time of the Avatar's return, however, the middle-aged sailor had settled into a life on land and joined the Fellowship, a move that put him at odds with his former brother in arms.[1]
Speaking to Mole, the Avatar could learn that the former pirate was embittered over his falling out with Blacktooth, and that he had regarded the man much more highly than he did his current comrades in the Fellowship. He seemed unaware that "old Blackie" missed him deeply as well and that his former companion genuinely desired that they reconcile. Should the hero discover his former shipmate's feelings and relay them to Mole, the ex-pirate would be happily surprised and vow to soon make amends with Blacktooth.[2][3]
