"Martine" (likely a working name)[1] is a hostess working at the Baths in Buccaneer's Den. She appears in Ultima VII.
Description[edit]
Martine would prove aloof outside of her place of employment, citing her desire for privacy. If the Avatar encountered her in the evening at the House of Baths, however, she would prove more receptive, playing the part of the flirtatious courtesan. She claimed to enjoy her work work in the Baths, citing the high pay and the opportunities to meet a variety of people.[2]
If asked for her professional services, she would offer to attend the hero in a luxuriant bath; to ply her skills as a masseuse; or to simply engage the Avatar in pleasant conversation, where she spoke of rumors of secret passages inside the mountains of the island. She also would invite the hero to join her in the Community Room, and would perform various sexual acts on behalf of the hero if taken up on her offer.[3]
