An unnamed madman lives deep within the confines of Deceit in Ultima V: Lazarus.
Haunted by the shadows flickering in the darkness, the lone inhabitant of Deceit was obsessed with driving away the darkness of the dungeon. He refused to tell the hero his name, only noting that he watched the shadows dance. Warning that the only way to not make a shadow was to become a creature of pure illumination, or to kill all light so that no shadow could exist, the madman refused to even provide his name, believing it would give the Avatar power over him. The madman asked the hero to choose between killing all light or killing everything that cast a shadow, driven to attack the hero in a fit of rage regardless of answer choice.[1]
