Ultima V: Lazarus[edit]

This is an Ultima V: Lazarus-related article or section. The information within may not apply to Ultima V or other Ultima games.

In Ultima V: Lazarus, Leila worked tirelessly to heal the wounded of Trinsic.[1] She was willing to speak about the condition of her patients, saying that she could not understand the cause of Jimmy's illness, only that he grew weaker and paler every day. She had heard from the druid Brethil that Madam Pendra of Yew may know of a cure, and tasked the Avatar with helping the young boy, healing Jimmy should the hero return with the cure.[2] Her patient Lady Anniel, a member of the Order of the Silver Serpent, had received a wound during an encounter with a Shadowlord in Trinsic. The knight seemed to have healed well, and Leila felt the New Magincian woman mostly suffered from wounded pride. She asked the Avatar to find a friend in New Magincia to visit her, or convince Mayor Ellison to let the woman leave. Her final patient, Sindar, had put himself into some kind of a magical sleep, and Leila was at a loss for a cure. She noted that Woolfe had sometimes seen the Great Council member wandering the city walls at night, although she felt these were delusions brought on by sleeplessness.

A source of knowledge of Trinsic, Leila told the Avatar how the former druid Brethil, the wife of Beledan, was at the center of a scandal suggesting she was having romantic relations with Tallon. Leila was in disbelief, since she had been friends with Tallon for years, and he had never offered more than friendship.

The troubled healer was at a crossroads with his loyalties, unsure if to still hope for Lord British's return or to follow Blackthorn. She told the hero that Ellison was quite convincing in her belief that Lord British was dead, and that she began to wonder if she should give up on his return. In order to gain her support to supply the besieged Serpent's Hold with medicine, the Avatar strengthened her belief in Lord British's return.

Leila was quickly willing to aid Hettar's plan to break the siege of Trinsic by providing medical supplies.[3]
