The Lady Alinore is a Virtue Peer whom Jordan Hawson, Althea and their companions meet in Merdaunt. She and her husband, Lord Herdic, hire the friends, as well as some men from Merdaunt, as rowers to take their ship up the river to Cove, where they seek to be enlightened at the Shrine of Compassion.
