Pushme Pullyu, from The Ultima 6 Project
Location: Palace of Blackthorn

The Pushme Pullyu is a two-headed horse-like creature found beneath the Palace of Blackthorn in Ultima VI.

Description[edit]

This strange creature was formed from the bizarre experiments of the mad mage Sutek, and resided deep within the remains of Blackthorn's Palace. Speaking at a fork in the tunnel, the riddling creature told the hero which direction to travel, and from its confusing words, it fell to the Avatar to decide the safest path.[1]

Runes of Virtue[edit]

A strange two-headed horse named Klip Klop resides within the Cavern of Deceit in Runes of Virtue, and it is very likely this creature represents Pushme Pullyu from Ultima VI. This strange beast presents a riddle similar to that offered by Sutek's strange creation, with Klip stating one head always lies, while Klop offers directions through the maze. If the hero chooses to ignore Klop's advice, both routes will be accessible.

Lore[edit]

Klip-Klop is a strange two-headed horse with a name for each head. Klip always tells the truth and Klop always lies - or was it the other way around?
