Kissme is an exuberant fairy inhabiting the forgotten land of Ambrosia during Ultima VII.
Description[edit]
The only fairy ever to feature in the Avatar's adventures, Kissme was a strange being, living in a constant frenzy of ecstatic love for all around her. Should the hero have encountered her, the amorous sprite would immediately seize upon the Avatar and any nearby companions, professing her love to them and showering them with (not always welcome) kisses. When spoken to, she would repeat herself frequently in a lyrical fashion, and would dreamily describe her happy life spreading "love dust" on the Ambrosian island.[1]
If pressed for useful information, Kissme could reveal snippets of knowledge regarding the meteors which had once rained upon the island, and would speak of the nearby caves and the hydra that dwelt therein. When asked about Ambrosia's past, the flighty being would reminisce about the days when her people were populous, and love dust much more plentiful.[2]
Trivia[edit]
- Various companions, if present, will have differing reactions to Kissme. Iolo will regard her with caution, but will offer, nonetheless to kiss her, just to make sure it is safe. Shamino will unabashedly proclaim his interest in the winsome pixie, while Dupre will react to her with annoyance and disgust. Spark, in keeping with his curiosity regarding "wenches," will merely blush at her proclamations.[1]
- Kissme is immune to all attacks save those bestowed by the Black Sword.
- It is unknown what effect, if any, Kissme's "love dust" has, although magic seems to function poorly in the fairy's presence, implying that it may be an ethereal disruptor.
- Kissme features in the maddened writings of the magician, Garret Moore, who landed on Ambrosia and took residence in an ancient tower there to conduct his experiments.[3]
