Joshua is a mage who may be found in the environs of Castle Britannia during Ultima IV.
Description[edit]
A wise and philosophical man, Joshua was lurking about the bushes of Lord British's castle for reasons never made clear. Should the Stranger discover the magician and speak to him, Joshua would offer his help in unraveling "the riddle", hinting to the hero as the great axiom which underlies the Three Principles and Eight Virtues.[1]
Trivia[edit]
- In the Nintendo remake of Ultima IV (where most character names were omitted and dialogue was significantly modified), Joshua can be identified with the nearby ranger, just across the wall. Since the Axiom Riddle thread was omitted from the remake, the ranger talks about the moongates.[2]
