Jakher is a trainer working in Minoc. He appears in Ultima VII.
Description[edit]
A good-natured man specializing in tactical combat, Jahker shared his home and training hall with the attractive Karenna – a female trainer and author well known for emphasizing conditioning exercises. While critical of his housemate's techniques, which he claimed to merely entail a philosophy of "hitting it harder," the jovial instructor admitted that he found the woman attractive, and the Avatar had the opportunity to carry such sentiments to Karenna and to find that she requited them.[1]
Long a resident of Minoc, Jakher spoke to the eroding sense of cultural diversity which had once been strong in the commercially thriving city, expressing shock over the recent double murder of two gypsies and making mention of the current row over the statue to be built in honor of Owen the shipwright, a man he had known for many years. If asked about the craftsman in detail, Jakher would reveal Owen's previous conflict with Karl over the death of his brother, speaking to the ship maker's repressed guilt and past alcoholism.[2]

Trivia[edit]
- Jakher's real world equivalent is Jack Herman, the writer in charge of Ultima VII's documentation. Karenna is based on Herman's wife, Karen.[4]
- Should the Avatar discuss Jakher with Karenna while he is within earshot, he will chime into the conversation, asking of what is being spoken.[5]
