Transcript: Jacqueline

Jacqueline is the wife of Gregory, the heavily scarred keeper of the lighthouse Waveguide off the coast of Verity Isle. She appears in Ultima V.

Description[edit]

Found by the side of her surly husband within the confines of the tower, Jacqueline was a gaunt woman with a vacant gaze. Should the Avatar attempt to engage her in conversation, it would quickly become apparent she was suffering a form of cognitive impairment, proving easily muddled and unable to recall her role at Waveguide, even as Gregory dutifully went about tending to the beacon. Jacqueline would, however, reveal a penchant for mud if queried on the topic.[1]

Ultima V: Lazarus[edit]

This is an Ultima V: Lazarus-related article or section. The information within may not apply to Ultima V or other Ultima games.

Afflicted by an unknown mental deterioration, the beautiful Jacqueline could barely remember her name and seemed oblivious to her life on Waveguide, hardly able to converse with the hero.[2] Jacqueline's heavily scarred husband Gregory sought to cure her affliction through human experimentation, subjects whom Lord Dalgrin had been happy to provide.[3][4] Enlor’s apprentice Alfred, who had been in Buccaneer's Den searching for a certain tome by the wizard Ignap, had come to be incarcerated on the island. During his time there, Alfred and Jacqueline had become close, driving the jealous Gregory to kill the young scholar in his experiments, which had ultimately failed to provide a cure for his wife.
