Ultima VII Part Two

In Ultima VII Part Two, the Hound of Doskar is a great magical beast capable of tracking any sort of creature, even across worlds.

Description[edit]

In order for it tracking skills to work, all the Hound needs is an item belonging to the creature sought, but the item must be something which reflects the soul of the lost one; something personal, something of the heart. Nothing is known to be able to stop the Hound from locating its quarry.

The Avatar could only summon it after gaining the Hound Whistle from the Forest Master Morghrim in exchange for dealing with Draygan. The Hound was needed to track Cantra with her wooden Practice Sword, and also later had to be used to track Batlin by using his Fellowship Medallion.

Trivia[edit]

  • When talking to the Hound, you can ask it to do tricks!
  • So long as the Orb of Elerion has not been stolen, Morghrim the Forest Master can summon the Hound of Doskar at will.
  • The Hound resembles a Bernese Mountain Dog.
  • Unlike with Cantra and Batlin, where tracking is needed to gain entrance to Shamino's Castle (with Cantra's wooden practice sword) and Skullcrusher (with Batlin's Fellowship Medallion), it is not needed to track the Banes of Chaos with it, though one can do so using Iolo's Lute or Dupre's Shield.
