Ultima V: Lazarus[edit]

This is an Ultima V: Lazarus-related article or section. The information within may not apply to Ultima V or other Ultima games.

In Ultima V: Lazarus, Hettar openly showed his dislike for the new mayor, Ellison, and remarked that he was no longer able to take his horses out of Trinsic to exercise them because of the rules enforced by the new mayor, and as such had stopped selling horses. He felt that Mayor Ellison had little understanding of Honor or of being a paladin, and felt that since the mayor would willingly break his own oath, Ellison would not trust the paladins of Trinsic who swore they would no longer oppose Blackthorn’s regime. The stablemaster scoffed at the mayor's Trial of Honor, which he had instituted to solve disputes within the town. Hettar had no good words for Paul, feeling the mason merely fed off the hard work of others.[1]

The Avatar was told about Hettar's association with the resistance by Gruman, the Captain of the Guard.[2] Hettar was working to supply Serpent's Hold, with goods while under siege by Blackthorn’s men, noting that the Avatar would act in ways he could not because of the hero's freedom to leave Trinsic. The stablemaster stressed that the besieged castle required food, iron, medical supplies, and a ship to get the goods there. Hettar suggested the Avatar talk to David of Greyhaven about the ship, Magdalena at the Crystal Chalice about food supplies, Leila at the Wounds of Honor about medical supplies, and Woolfe and The Paladin’s Protectorate for iron. Should the Avatar fulfill all these tasks, the supply of Serpent's Hold would commence.
