Gwani Horn

The Gwani Horn is a powerful artifact. It appears in Ultima VII Part Two.

Description

This horn essentially has the same effects as the Horn of Praecor Loth, albeit because of it being much smaller, its powers are also more limited, as it can only violently smash blocks of ice instead of shattering whole buildings.

The gwani of the Serpent Isle had this special Horn for generations, until Vasculio stole it from them, knowing of its great powers. He put the horn into a force field in his base in Skullcrusher, so that his prize would not be stolen by anyone daring to invade his domain. The Avatar still got the Horn after finally getting the Dispel Field spell from Spinebreaker, and used the horn to free Gwenno’s body from an ice block in the gwani's cemetery, so that she could be resurrected by the Xenkan Monks.

Trivia

• The horn also can be used as a weapon together with the spell Create Ice, by first creating an ice block and then blowing it up while a foe is next to it.
• The horn being under a force field is another example of the game forcing the player to follow the intended plot.
