Starting Sunday, May 05th, Ken plans on migrating the existing Codex over to a new server. He wants us to stop all file uploads prior to Sunday. Hopefully everything is smooth sailing from there. Dungy (talk) 19:32, 3 May 2013 (PDT)

Didn't you just break this with your U6SE uploads? --Browncoat Jayson (talk) 13:04, 5 May 2013 (PDT)
It should be OK. Just don't tell anyone. Dungy (talk) 13:40, 5 May 2013 (PDT)
Does anyone know when I can upload the rest of the armour, items et al of Ultima VII? --Arthgon (talk) 16:25, 6 May 2013 (PDT)
Judging from Ken's Facebook, it likely won't be happening until tomorrow. Dungy (talk) 18:17, 6 May 2013 (PDT)
Codex is on a new server. Feel free to upload files again. Let me know if there are any problems. -- Fenyx4 20:58, 9 May 2013 (UTC)
It just could be something with my computer, but the latest uploads from the Armour Values and the knife from Ultima VII is acting up. Could it be that there went something wrong or something? How to fix it? --Arthgon (talk) 20:29, 11 May 2013 (UTC)

Well, the thumbnails don't work (only new ones), so there seem to be issues.--Tribun (talk) 20:38, 11 May 2013 (UTC) Origin FX-Engine shows the error with the thumbnails.--Tribun (talk) 08:14, 12 May 2013 (UTC)

Thumbnails should be fixed now. -- Fenyx4 12:47, 12 May 2013 (UTC)
There still seem to be some issues, such as here: Ultima Underworld: The Stygian Abyss#Release. --Sega381 (talk) 14:23, 16 May 2013 (UTC)
That one was failing due to the source being ginormous. It was 50MB. I shrunk it down to about a MB and it thumbnailed up fine. Thanks for pointing it out. Let me know if you spot more. -- Fenyx4 18:25, 16 May 2013 (UTC)
Thank you for changing that large picture of the advertisment of UU. It seems that I totally forgot about it. This was one of the things of MyToDo list. Ooops. Thanks. --Arthgon (talk) 20:30, 16 May 2013 (UTC)

This may have nothing to do with the server change, but if you try to modify anything in the Ultima I article and then save your change, the following message from the spam filter shows up (NOTE: I can't even show the full message here as is it again flagged as spam):

Spam protection filter
The text you wanted to save was blocked by the spam filter. This is probably caused by a link to a blacklisted external site.
The following text is what triggered our spam filter: <number_removed_to_post_this_error_in_forum>09.jpg

Same thing with the Computer Ports of Ultima I, and probably other similar pages. There seems to be something funny with the spam filter, as this doesn't really make sense. To start with, the image it is referring to was already in the article, and apart from that, it is just the name of an internal image, no web link. Maybe something got broken in the spam filter with the transfer? --Sega381 (talk) 03:44, 19 May 2013 (UTC)

It's still this system that articles can't be edited when a picture has a certain name (I think the number of digits is important). No offense, but considering our spam problem is a thing of the past by now, the filter is just a hassle and needs to be gone.--Tribun (talk) 14:24, 19 May 2013 (UTC)
We aren't getting spammed ***because*** we have a spam filter. -- Fenyx4 22:48, 19 May 2013 (UTC)
Ok, but is there a way for you to find out which files are flagged and change their names (because I can't)? It would help stop these problems.--Tribun (talk) 22:53, 19 May 2013 (UTC)
I'll take care of it. But are you sure you can't change the file names? I'm pretty sure everyone should have the "move" option at the top of a file page. FenyxTest (talk) 00:29, 20 May 2013 (UTC)
Oops was still logged into a test account. -- Fenyx4 00:30, 20 May 2013 (UTC)
How is Computer Ports of Ultima I now? I have changed and removed the offending pictures. --Arthgon (talk) 01:52, 20 May 2013 (UTC)
The problem with moving a picture, is that there is now a file redirect in the File usage. --Arthgon (talk) 02:21, 20 May 2013 (UTC)
Thanks Arthgon. I took care of the rest of them. When you move a file there is a checkbox "Leave a redirect behind" if you uncheck that it doesn't leave a redirect. Although I didn't uncheck it... Is having a redirect a problem? -- Fenyx4 02:32, 20 May 2013 (UTC)
There is a checkbox? See, I must have been looking with my nose again. Thank you. It is not that of a problem, but I just personally find it a bit ugly. If you know what I mean. --Arthgon (talk) 14:09, 21 May 2013 (UTC)
Thanks for the help guys! I had to move another image, which was for the PC8801, as apparently 3 digits together or more counts as spam. Though we can live for now with renaming files to comply with the less-than-three-digits-together rule, how flexible is the spam filter? Is there a way of allowing internal images with several digits on their names? It feels... weird having to truncate names that make sense because the rule is too broad.--Sega381 (talk) 02:40, 20 May 2013 (UTC)
No the spam filter isn't intelligent enough to differentiate between filenames that exist and filenames that don't. If you dig back in the deletion log you'll find a bunch of deleted pages from last July and earlier which had a lot of gobbledegook in them. The only repetitive part was a filename that ended with 3 or more digits and '.jpg'. So that is what I had to key off of to make them stop.
I know it is annoying. On the flip side I think we have 9,524 files. Of those 15 had to be fixed so they didn't conflict with the spam filter. That is less than 0.16% of the files. I think it is worth not getting spammed everyday. -- Fenyx4 03:13, 20 May 2013 (UTC)

Are the files now fixed?--Tribun (talk) 10:12, 20 May 2013 (UTC)

Oh, I see, I understand now. Thanks! --Sega381 (talk) 15:54, 20 May 2013 (UTC)
Yes. -- Fenyx4 11:58, 20 May 2013 (UTC)
