Ed could be found recovering in Cove from wounds he received in Ultima VI.

It is unknown what happened to this man or how he was injured. Were his injuries the result of an accident or an unfortunate encounter with the Gargoyles? The Avatar was unfortunately unable to address him to learn the truth.[1]
The Ultima 6 Project[edit]

In The Ultima 6 Project, Ed's injuries did catch up with him and he died while the Avatar spoke with Sasha. Sasha told the hero therefore to bring his body to Geoffrey for funeral arrangements. As per his further orders, Ed's body was cremated by the mortician Glen at Empath Abbey and the urn buried at the cemetery of Britain during a warrior's funeral.
