1423 B.C. is one of the four major time-zones accessible through the time doors within the alternate history of Earth created by Minax's disruptions in Ultima II.
Description[edit]
With the normal flow of time disrupted by the enchantress, the outcroppings of ancient civilization shifted positions. In this version of archaic Earth, the British Isles and Southern Italian peninsula contained the majority of civilization, with Lord British seemingly ruling over it. The only other human settlement was Le Jester, a village located near the location of the prehistoric Baradin's Town. Besides these, a dungeon existed in the northern mountains of Greenland, and a tower had been erected on the east coast of South America.
At this time, a great deal of anachronistic technology was available to the populace, thanks to the time doors and time travelers from the future. Anachronisms from the future include light swords and phasers being available, and computer programmers discussing their trade idly in public.
When the time doors collapsed, none of the anachronistic technology were to be seen again.

Lore[edit]
“ | The time just before the dawn of civilization as history records it. According to the time travelers, an advanced civilization already exists in B.C., apparently the progeny of the beginning civilization of Pangea. The old twentieth century “crack pots” theorized that civilization developed from a few human beings left behind by a prior advanced civilization that for some reason moved on into space. – from The Second Age of Darkness (Ultima II)

Trivia[edit]
- 1423 B.C. is the approximate beginning of the Mycenaean Period of ancient Greece, which may roughly correlate with the legendary reign of Agamemnon, a largely mythological Lacedaemonian king who featured in the film Time Bandits, the movie upon which Ultima II is based.
- In the Commodore 64-port of the game, this age is labeled as 300 B.C.
