It is unknown what crime David Alpert committed to become incarcerated within the prison of Shadowguard, but should the Stranger discover his cell, he will inform the hero that he has done a "bad thing". [1]

This character's real-life counterpart could be David Albert, who was already active in video game industry at the time, and would be employed by Origin a couple of years later.
