Cosmo is an inexperienced warrior from Jhelom questing in Dungeon Destard during Ultima VII.
Description[edit]
Prior to the Avatar's return to Britannia, Cosmo became smitten with Ophelia, an attractive bar hostess in Jhelom. This vain and arrogant woman did not return the youth's affections, but nevertheless claimed that she would wed him on one condition – that Cosmo locate a unicorn and thereby prove his sexual innocence. Cosmo, believing that Ophelia would keep her word, traveled to Dungeon Destard with his friends Cairbre and Kallibrus to seek out such a creature, although his companions seemed doubtful of their mission.[1]
Should the Avatar encounter Cosmo and his group, it would be apparent that the party had not yet found the mystical beast, and Cosmo would only haltingly tell the hero of his task, being embarrassed.[2]
Trivia[edit]
- While it is possible for the Avatar to convince a unicorn known as Lasher to assist Cosmo in his task, the ultimate fate of Cosmo and Ophelia is never made explicit in the series.
- Should the hero report back to Cosmo that Lasher refuses to aid him, the impassioned youth will remain undeterred.[3]
